Sam Walton

Sam Walton was an American business man born in 29^th March 1918 near Kingfisher, Oklahoma U.S. Walton .Walton was living on a farm until 1923. Sam Walton was the founder of two American retailers, Wal-Mart and Sam`s Club .He was the patriarch of the Walton family, one of the richest families in the world.

During he was in high school Walton was athletic playing basketball and football also he became the vice president of the student body during his junior year and move to president during his senior year. Also Walton did many jobs to help his family meet their finance needs. After he joined to university of Missouri he started to work part time jobs such as waiting tables in exchange for his meals. He majored in economic. As we can see here Walton grew up throw lots of hard working to help his family as much as he could.

Walton joined to military in the US army intelligence Corps but in 1945 he left the military with the ambition of opening a department store and he started with $20,000 Loan from his father in law and also by his own saving $ 5000 , he bought a store from Butler brothers Franchise in Newport , Arkansas. From the beginning Sam makes his business success. By 1950 he leased nearby store and opened department store called Eagle but it never had the same success. We can see there were goals and dreams he wanted to achieve.

 Walton`s First Store

Walton made decision to put the checkout counters to one location near the exit that allow to customers to pay at the one location at the same time. By 1985 he had 800 stores. Unlike other discount retailers, he opened up in small towns where there was little competition. He attracted a lot of customers to come to his store by giving discount in everything they buy in cash and that what made most of  people go to Wal-Mart stores .by this way we can see how Walton was a genius and clever in the economic and creating a new strategies  that keep the customers around his shops always . He also used a technique of nosing around other stores looking for good employees which turned up Willard Walker a manager of the TG&Y Variety. However , nowadays Wal-Mart still as famous as before in USA and other countries because of the strategy he use and they still use until this moment that he give discount and also low prices for the cash payment and now Wal-Mart still number one in Stores world or market world.

Nowadays Wal-Mart stores are all around the world now America, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, South Korea, China, Germany and other countries. Sam Walton died in 1992 and left his wealth to his wife and his children. The Walton family made up half of the top richest in the USA until 2005. Also Walton`s supported many charitable causes, including those of his church.

From Walton story we can understand life wasn't easy for him because he used to work but he had a dream and he saved and suffer to get to them. What we should learn from this man never feels fair of what you believe because you can get it one day but everything needs to work for it.  

If Walton still alive he would be the world`s wealthiest person
